ANALYSE by Reginald Stadlbauer - Allows the molecular mass and percentage of
various components in an elementary compound (e.g. nitro toluene) to be
calculated. While named compounds may also be handled, this function is not
operative in the Shareware version. An input of mass range (from spectral
analysis) also calculates the formula of the compound. Program and docs in
both English and German. This program is designed specifically with organic
and inorganic chemists in mind. JEOPARDY by Reginald Stadlbauer - A quiz-
type game not too dissimilar to Trivia Pursuit. Five categories are chosen
randomly and each category has five questions, worth anything from 100 to
500 points. You must answer all question by multiple to choice to complete
the round. Score enough points and you progress to the next level where the
answers are worth more points. Finally, you risk all in the third round!
WORD QUEST v4 - A word search puzzle creator where the hidden word must be
found by searching horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The default grid
is 20 by 20 but this may be altered to suit. Many sample quizzes are
supplied and there are options galore for moving, entering, replacing and
searching for words. All is explained in an on-disk manual of more than 5O
pages! Hours of entertainment here. WIZPAK by Great Dane Software - This is
an odd one. It sort of borders between artificial intelligence, OCR and a
game! It is intended as a simplified introduction to artificial intelligence
systems and image recognition systems. WizPack consists of two programs, the
first is an image recognition system. You draw the letters of the alphabet
on screen and teach the program which image belongs to which letter. It is
then possible for the program to recognise letters even when drawn in a
slightly different manner or at a completely different size. The second
program is a two player game in which each player draws five images (or
letters) when their opponent is not looking, and they have to try draw the
same image as their opponent did. As soon as it looks vaguely like the
image, the program reveals the name of the image by way of a clue. Both
programs are Shareware and registered users get improved versions. Very well
documented.
